Ok, NOW this journal is dead!! It's been great chatting with people here.. but as ya know, I'm never on LJ. I'm on myspace all the time (and yes, it's a terrible website, full of spam and garbage and it's poorly coded and run), for band stuff... and I thought it would be nice to eventually post some of my own music there.

I've been doing a bunch of stuff lately: written some of my own stuff, played a show with Electric Knife Fight, been in the studio with TBM, and I started working as a sound designer on a couple of video games. I have learned and been involved in so much new stuff in the last 3 weeks.

http://www.myspace.com/rhim

The Birthday Massacre Myspace will have a bunch of new updates coming as well. lots happening.

Thanks all :)

Happy everything. [Dec. 24th, 2006|04:12 pm]
[music |Meatloaf - Bat out of Hell III]

Not dead! Neither is this journal, I suppose. But I've been wondering: why have a journal...if I'm only going to write in it every 6 months. haha. Well, I suppose I think about writing in here pretty often. About music (probably 95% of what I think about), about myspace and internet oddities, about useless stuff. I just never seem to find the time. Mostly, It would be ranting about things that tick me off anyway, heh.

Today, I thought I'd log in and say hello..and wish anyone out there a "happy holidays"!! or xmas, festivus, or whatever it is you feel like celebrating. So far, in the last month I've been to some holiday events and seen some friends I hadn't seen in years... Awesome to see friends and family as much as I've been able. It's been good.

Hope everyone is doing well! Happy Christmas eve, y'all!
I'll be back 'soon' with updates...
[I suppose. Everyone in the world has a blog now. People talk about blogs on cnn and in the globe and mail like it was "serious business" or something. I know I hardly read anyones blog, unless they are a friend of mine.]
...wait, I'm already ranting about useless things, eh?

Hi all. no time to chat today. *sigh* and I had been meaning to! just thought I'd start plastering these flyers and banners all over everything!!
(..oh? You did know we have a Toronto show before we leave for Europe, right??)
AND... we did a major overhaul on our myspace site. It actually looks ok now. New pics up, CD for sale right in the profile... and more on the way. busy, busy. Go check it out..

Especially check out the bands in our Myspace "top 16". You wont regret it. We've listed some awesome music/bands/friends there. Really, no kidding... Go listen to "strange" by New Love Army or "Pale Light" by Asrai. -Two- Killer songs that will grow on you. not bad! "Strange" has been in my head for days now.

Must sleep. I hope to chat more soon...heh

How are YOU, really? [May. 25th, 2006|09:50 pm]
[mood | curious]
[music |'Daylight' -Delerium feat.Matthew Sweet]

Holy crap. Two entries in two days. The devil wants his heat back on.

So I may last, fascinating entry, I said some stuff... and heard back from alot of cool people. (um...guess that pretty much sums up LJ or um, everything on the internet, almost) ... ... I realize it's been awhile since I've talked to some of you. ... I've only recently met some of the readers of my LJ.
Hmmm... see... we've been on tour... and I've met so many people... and I've been grateful to many of them for coming to the shows, or posting online, promoting or just being cool to me/us... but I lose touch with such a large group of people... and it's hard to remember everyone.. and hard to say thanks to all those who deserve it.

My point? here comes:

How is everyone anyway? I talk about myself endlessly on here. (guess thats the point) ... but I find myself wondering how you are. where are you now? ...and in some cases...haha...'where did we meet again'?

So... anyone up for telling me how there are? or where they are now?

Things Rhim Can't Do:
.write
.whistle
.draw/paint
.snap his fingers
.read fast
.touch his toes
.easily begin tasks
.make a cool LJ layout
.lay off the snacks

Hi. [note: this entry is intented to be introspective... not angsty. honest.]
Every once in awhile... I start thinking I could write something. Meaning, a story or script or something people would read and enjoy and think about. I think I could be a writer or ... editor? ..possibly in film, or some plot consultant(?) for tv or video games. Who hasn't?! It's usually when I read/watch/listen to something that ends up not being as good as it should have. I think I could do better..or at least I could have intervened with suggestions for the script/plot/direction/whatever ... before a perfectly good idea was ruined.

Then, as it so happened last week, I begin to read something like H.G.Wells' "The Food of the Gods" (from a collection of his works -thanks Dad, I totally forgot to tell you I borrowed your book). Then I remember why I'm not a writer. It would be an endless and arduous journey to develop the skills needed to write properly. (I would need to learn to spell, for one thing. ack.) Wells wrote over 100 years ago ... our language has changed so much since. Heck, I'll be working just to read this thing for a long time, never mind trying to write something someday. Then again, we've all seen horrible scrips and read bad, boring stories; someone is making a living on this crap.

Would I even have any ideas anyone would care about? Maybe that's not the point. I also really, really wish I could draw. ...that I would do for fun..and to get some ideas out...but if you knew my present skill level in that art... you'd understand how far I had to come in years of developing skills to result in even partially pleasing work.

Much of my creative energies seem to come from the desire to improve on the ...or even try to slightly top something I really do admire ('rock out' to). "...Man, that would have been so cool, if they had only done...."

I come up with ideas for entries in this journal...ha... but as you know, dear reader, rarely does it occur. ..well, I plan to write here more often (best laid plans...?) ..but ..Busy? In part. And I have trouble starting things. Always have. School work was fine, yet tough to focus on..essays were a nightmare. Insurmountable tasks. Now that I'm here, writing...I'm quite able. But the remembering and drive to do so... another story, usually. It's been a good day/week productivity-wise...and maybe now it's a good time update my Lj. Joy.

I also think I'm a musician sometimes... and I try not to think about my skill levels in comparison to Tschaikowsky or Mahler...or Danny Carey, for that matter. I can't quite write the music I want to ...yet. This and "can't easily begin tasks" ...are the two things that bother me the most.

I'm sure everyone wants to know what the band is doin. [We'll, we're going to Europe, but you knew that!!] I don't know when...but merch/shows/music/updates is/are coming. Just don't want anyone to think we're all on vacation or anything. there's lots to do...and we're doing it ourselves.

"The Best laid plans of mice and men are often led astray"

[spell check only revealed one mistake before posting. I looked up "Tschaikowsky", beforehand, though. I'll bet he even had trouble with it]

****edit... heh. to be clear: The list makes me smile. Everyone is very nice... but it's not so much that I'm feeling blue or doubting myself. I can drum, better than many. I can just acknowledge that no matter how good a musician I am(/aren't) ..there is always room for improvement and effort. ...there's always someone better... and something to strive for. See? told you I wasn't a writer... ;) I came off sounding sad when I'm not at all. ****

Albuquerque....where? [Mar. 13th, 2006|03:01 am]
[mood | frustrated]

Man... there is nothing to do in Albuquerque New Mexico on a sunday. Sure, it's a bit late...but even the 7-11 closed at 11pm here. there area we are in....is nice, but a complete ghost town...haha.. Ah well. Show here tomorrow... should be fun.

Most of the shows have been great.(but not all of them) I hope people understand about the problems at the Phoenix show. It was a bit frustrating to come all this way and put on a show (as well for all the people who came, I bet)...and some promoter or club or whomever messes it up cause they aren't organized. Long story short: we were the last to know that our set was to be cut in half....we were told when we were already onstage about 5 songs in. I guess they over booked the venue with too many events on the same day...someone forgot to tell someone else...blah blah... probably makes our band look bad. we were cut off and the bands after us (?? we weren't told anything was after us) lost time as well. ... it felt like we were ripping people off who bought tickets. The Band was quite displeased. We'll be back sometime to play a full set and make it up to people... but never for the people who organized that event. We're grateful to be doing these shows... I want people to know that. The one good thing about Phoenix that night: the start, SYH and us going out for chinese food. Fun. glad to be doing more shows with them.

All that crud aside... tour is going well. Great shows and fun people in Vancouver, seattle, and more.... THe Roxy in Hollywood was a bit of a highlight. Great line up with Lunarclick and The Start...although I wish School Yard Heroes had played as well... they have a great, very energetic live show. And it's also too bad that we only had the one show with Lunarclick. THey were great live, have a new Cd and they're so nice. All the bands have become buds. It's pretty cool, no attitudes

Haven't had as much internet time since we left, so I hope my family and friends remember me, heh.

Hello From Edmonton! [Feb. 24th, 2006|10:04 pm]
[mood | cheerful]
[music |Lye - Cut out Heart]

Hey y'all,

Well the Broken Minds '06 tour is underway... Two shows done so far...a zillion more to go. The first two went really well. ...Winnipeg was a cool place... a long drive (it was day 3 before we got there, stopping in Sioux St. Marie and Thunder Bay on the way) I am always suprised at how there are people in all these towns who have heard our music. It's great... only two shows so far and we've met a bunch of cool people, chatted with some music fans, and dished out some rock! Thanks to people for coming to the West End C.Center in Winnipeg and The Roxy last night in Saskatoon!

When we left Toronto, Late, late Saturday night, there was no snow. Then we got to Sioux St. Marie...and Thunder Bay and Winnipeg...all under 19 feet of snow. Canada is pretty awesome that way... so far we have stopped for gas and snacks in a few small places.. (like Spanish Ont. haha..it IS on the map) ...and it's still Canada, yet different. It's a very diverse country we live in. And I/We are pretty pleased to finally be playing shows across the rest of it.

It's hard to pack for a two month trip... I did forget a couple of small things....and we ran out of time to do everything we wanted to do before we left. ack. (thanks Em and Steph for taking care of Frost and Kisou for us...we miss our kitties already)

We're in a hotel in Edmonton right now... had a day off today and we spent most of it at the massive West Edmonton Mall. Pretty neat! A bit pricey, but wow... that amusement park was pretty wicked. The water park was closed for renovations, but we did some shopping to get a couple of those things we forgot to bring... and played a round of Laser tag! Should top off tonight with watching "saw II". and maybe some video games on the bus ...but don't get me wrong..this is a rare break...it's back to business tomorrow..and tons of work ahead! Looking forward to the show tomorrow..and to getting to BC and some better weather, haha!

This tour is organized better than the last couple... we have days off in some cool places and can actually sleep in our bus/van...it has bunks so we sleep all night and wake up in the next town to get ready for the show. Much better than the 10 hour drives in europe (only to show up late to sound check) ...and much better than ME driving to New York, and getting lost for hours (late for soundcheck). We have been early for all soundchecks so far, ...and the shows have been better because of it. In the Tradition of our other longer tour (europe) we began by swimming! We spend the occasional evening resting/cleaning up in a hotel before the nights drive... and we've been able to swim twice! Awesome. I love swimming.

Again, I'd like to say 'thanks' to everyone who came/will be coming to the shows .. and the opening bands..they've all been really good. ;) It's been great so far! Everyone's been so nice. I'm really happy to be playing shows for people who have listened to us/supported us for so long.

That's it for now ;) More to follow! Hope all the rest of you are doing well..and I hope to see some of ya at one of the shows!

Practicing, be back in an hour. [Jan. 27th, 2006|10:37 pm]
[mood | energetic]
[music |TBM Entire setlist - practice material]

hi. Finally going to update my journal. ...no, really.

...but I'm Going to go practice some more first. These shows ...have to be good. Be back in about an hour.

I've done so much lately, I don't even know what to say or where to start. ...well, I can start with this: Just read a bit of our message board.... everyone seems so excited about our shows...and man, it's so nice to hear. and we have more to confirm, still! People are being quite nice. ...It will feel so good to finally be playing the shows we have wanted to for so long! (and with some cool bands, too!!!)

...be back soon.

New Year's In Hollywood [Dec. 31st, 2005|01:32 pm]
[mood | cheerful]

HI all. Posting from ...Hollywood right now! (1:43pm west coast time) (and no, we're no where near the Mudslides and flooding in California, Mom)Got in late last night from our connecting flight (man, and now I know why that airline was so cheap...yuck)...Newark-Atlanta-L.A... flying over L.A. is wicked...it's huge. Just stretches on forever. All we've done so far? Drove around last night, found the hotel checked in, and got something to eat. We are one block over from Hollywood blvd. Nice. Actually got a chance to sleep a full 8 hours and I think everyone feels great and is really looking forward to the show! Couple of errands to do, more eating, and then load/in sound check later today.

It's raining...kinda a bit too bad, but apparently we have tomorrow to look around as well... which I'm quite happy about. Hollywood is, pretty dang cool. People here are very friendly, thus far. Last nights cheeseburger at 3 am was the best thing I've every eaten, I think.

The show last night went well. My feelings on D.C.? Too much of an oppressive police presence. It's crazy being there. Feels weird, like ...way too serious. But the show.....hundreds of people there, and everyone one was cool. Good opening bands, too. :) I felt so drained during the show. Traveling can take alot out of you. The drum riser wobbled quite a bit while I played..and i thought i was getting dizzy...and water kept dripping on my snare drum from a hole in the roof, haha. but the venue (the Nation) was very cool otherwise. (and thank you so much to whomever got us the pre-show food. It was amazing. Sooo nice of you.)... I guess I played well enough. We played a song there we've never played live before. A cover of Mindless Self Indulgence's "straight to video". Good tune, fun to play. Hope everyone liked it. There's Tons of pictures posted on the board of the show!!!..thanks guys!! you're the best. Good to see some people from the board and from Last year's show at Jaxx...this one, btw, went WAY better. Had fun talking with people, but not enough time to do so.

So, don't have much time at all right now...(no time to spell check) just wanted to stop in and say hello! Hope everyone has a happy new year!!! looking forward to seeing everyone tonight...can't wait for the show.

European Tour Journal...and Parent Proofing Your Live Journal [Aug. 8th, 2005|09:46 pm]
[mood | hot]
[music |Foo Fighters]

Hiya everyone! What's happening?

The Toronto show last night was a blast! Thanks to everyone for coming out... as usual, it was great to see so many people, esp. our online friends and far away friends who come from hours away to have a good time with us! (eg., New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Florida, California....<---holy cow you guys!!!) Ill Attire, was great, sounding really good with the live drummer (new since last I saw them). I think I have a new love for New Love Army. I finally saw them play...and I dig those tunes. Have to get me a CD. Lye was totally cool, as well. Totally interesting to see my pals play while I'm on the other side of the stage... their new tracks are sounding good, and during..what was it...'Endless Rev.'?... that was the sweetest guitar sex I've ever heard. ;)  And hey..I got to see some good friends (hi Mark, Colin, etc.) ...it was fun.

There was so much gear to move..I think it took forever. Went to bed at 6am. Woke up today... and felt like heck (and no, I didn't drink).  Everything is sore. But it was all worth it, I think. hehe...wonder what you guys think?

So ...about this whole European Tour thing....

Here's the message we posted to our news section on TheBirthdayMassacre.com:

Well, the time has finally arrived. The Birthday Massacre leaves tomorrow (August 9th) on our PLAYING DEAD TOUR, and yes, we're all pretty excited! I can't tell you how much we're looking forward to seeing some of our overseas friends and fans, finally!! Ten shows across six countries -in not quite two weeks- isn't going to leave us as much time as we'd like to post news or answer mails. However... we are planning to update y'all on our travels via our new Official Birthday Massacre Online Journal.

http://www.livejournal.com/users/official_tbm/

Go here to view our thoughts, pictures, comments and stories from abroad...  And sure, we'll read comments anyone leaves us, too.

There are many people to thank who have helped to get us this far, supported us along the way or at shows, on trips, or recording!  ... Friends, family, our kick-butt support staff, management, the bands we've played with, Repo, WOD, Metropolis...all of ya who bought an album, posted a message or banner, or came to a show...

So, Thank you. :)

Wish us luck!! Back in 2 Weeks!

Oh... and the other day I was told ...that my parents and some family -do read this journal- *gulp* ... I had to go over the whole thing and "Parent Proof" it. haha. Mostly for no reason. In my mind, it seemed odd, yet true: I had nothing to edit. However, I did use the word "crap" 16 times. and it would take far to long to fix those. So everyone say 'Hi' to my Parents, cool Aunts, an uncle or two, my brother, etc.. !!! I owe them a big thank-you someday... a person couldn't ask for a more supportive family.

Free time...over. [Jul. 25th, 2005|04:51 pm]
[mood | contemplative]

Yep. the fun is over. I am faced with a large amount of things to do before the Toronto show and the Europe show. Laundry, packing, cleaning, helping friend move, wedding to go to. practice, flyer, practice.... I barely have the day job anymore ('till the fall)... too much else to do, and that's fine with me. ...it was the last place I wanted to be. I'm going to flyer a -little- more today. Practice for awhile. I'd like to sneak in some video game time... but I soooo don't have the free time I used to.

[Well... Sure I've had some free time over the last few months. (and here comes the nerdy part) I finished both Suikoden I and II (Konami RPGs from the mid-90s)...and they were great!. I finished Suikoden2 with (Nerd alert) all 108 stars! They were totally old school... but fun. And I started playing Final Fantasy 7 through for fun, just after. Man, what a great game. Weird, blocky characters (may not be everyone's thing)... but the game, the plot...is superb. It's pretty mature in places, too. Probably my favorite game. ...and Gran Turismo 3... holy crap that game is so unforgiving at some points, it's almost un-fun. But there's so much to do in it...I won't complain too much.]

No more games for me, not for awhile.

Sweet, Sweet, Flyers [Jul. 21st, 2005|11:23 am]
[mood | optimistic]
[music |The Cars - Magic]

How's everyone enjoying summer, anyway? What's everyone up too? Getting out of the house?

Me? It's going to be a busy day. I'm going flyering! (cause I want to get outside and do something!!!) First meeting up with my friend Mark (friend for like, 17 years or something like that), which doesn't happen often enough (sorry dude)... then off to do a couple of errands with rainbow...try to secure some stuff for the upcoming photoshoot, and for Europe... then it's Off to Flyer!!

Now, Chibs and I bought a really nice staple gun last year...but do you think I know where it is? NOPE.

So anyway... I'll be downtown, hanging up stuff that peole will either quickly rip down, or worse, flyer right over as soon as they can (see my last summer LJ rant re:flyering in downtown Toronto...frickin people... ) I'll let you know later how it goes.

Heh...here's a fun idea (well not really)...  If you get a sec...let me know if you actually see flyers (does it actually work, these things?) and if you see someone postering over our flyers (with giving it at least a couple days to be up)...just smack them. ;)

oh... and I made a smaller..possibly easier to post flyer

a little smaller flyer for Aug7. 55k )

[music |Burn - NIN]

Weeeellll. Y'all asked fer it!  So here it is. CD -and- DVD release party!!! Don't say we never did nothin for ya!!!  Hope we've given you enough warning and everyone can come :) The bran' spankin' new blue DVD is ready... and The Metropolis Violet release will be available for advance sale at this show, too!!!!! Freebies and door prize draws all night.  Sunday August 7 ..6:30pm!!! Come on time...and see the other bands!!! (Don't make me come after you)

Yes ...I'm totally excited about this show. How could I not be? ...There's a great line-up too...kinda like a Who's-Who of TBM friends, roommates and former members...haha (shhhh don't tell). I have just as much to look forward to this show as anyone, I think. Haven't seen Tepid lust in awhile (will be cool) ..I'm seeing New Love Army for the first time (will be cool and I'm embarrassed I haven't seen them yet)...and the re-incarnated Lye (also, will be cool).

Everything...seems to be almost in place. Hard work... paying off? possibly. Excitement is ...creeping up on us. We have so much to do in the next... egads...few days/weeks... but the excitement is finally outweighing the work. ---'the shows and -europe- are, like, right around the corner' ...and I'm getting freaked for all of it.   I'm happy and busy. guess that's good.

My Mac died again And I realize as I'm writing this..that I don't care nearly as much as I did last time..too much other stuff to do! I hope to see many of you there at the show... Come wish us luck in person for the european tour!. (I'll need it)

(sorry about the HUGE flyer everyone (people with slow connections) but I didn't want people to miss it!!!)

New Merch / MSI shows [Jun. 28th, 2005|09:33 pm]
[mood | mellow]
[music |Bon Jovi]

HI everyone. Don't think I've ever posted twice in one day before.  ...But we have a ton of new goodies (almost) up, that I'm pretty excited about. New t-shirts are almost available... ..which is good we really needed them. we were running out of stuff left and right at the shows we've been playing.

Check it out.........

and some updates have been made to www.thebirthdaymassacre.com that I'm pretty happy about.

The Mindless Self Indulgence shows were great! We played 4 shows with them in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, and London and then one show back in London where we headlined at Dissent. http://www.dissentlondon.com/. <---they have some pics up. Dissent was great. Lots of people came from... holy crap so faaaar away (thanks to the Chicago crew, esp..and the people from ..the US..and Florida??? holy crap. it was nice to meet you guys.) It was so good to have the venue promo and set up right be prepared and be nice to us.  (thanks Cam, Tim, ect...)... They worked hard on helping us load in, sound, giving us a place to rest, food (which rocked) It makes all the difference. They have a totally cool thing going on there... everyone should stop in and have a drink if ever in London. Thanks again, guys.

Our first show with MSI was at the drink in London...it was great to see them play live... very high energy (obviously)...and pretty crazy... Good to be out with a band I'm a fan of. I have alot to say about the venues we played at on this trip... The Drink in london was also really good to us...gave us parking, helped us move all our gear a greenroom, drinks, coffee... a soundcheck. It might sound silly... but I'm grateful. Some venues treat us like we are bothering them. Some venues make us pack up our gear outside in the alley in the dark...*grumbles*   Some bartenders roll their eyes if I ask for one glass of WATER. I don't see why that is. I do NOT need to be pampered... just at least make it possible for us to have a good show. I think the Toronto show at the Guvernment was our largest crowd yet.... 1200, apparently...and the venue was great to us there, too. it's huge ...and The sound guy actually cared. ;) ...Jimmy of MSI ... stood onstage for like..i dunno 30minutes? after the set holding a large sign over his face..that read "i hate you" ... he danced a wee bit to "poison".  hahaha. The crowds in Montreal and Ottawa were also really cool. met alot of good people all over on this tour. The band was pretty nice to us...we had some laughs..and they weren't as insane as I expected them to be. We gave them a Texas Instruments Electronic clown head to say thanks. Enjoy, guys!! I have a pic some where of both bands standing together... I'll post it if i can find it.

see ya!

Today 'n' stuff. [Jun. 28th, 2005|07:35 pm]
[mood | sore]
[music |Ozzy Osbourne - See you on the other side]

it's hot out. But I like it. I'm gonna scribble some stuff here... no spell check, no order, no sense...I'm just gonna ramble. feel free to comment!

Just bought a massive re-furr-bished 21" monitor ..cause I had my Mac fixed and bought a new sound card/micpre ...and I'm ready to rock!! whoo hoo...I'm gonna go write some music. expecting not to see the sun for quite awhile. I love the idea of getting this rig up and running... I've been waiting for so long to do so.. finally!!!! My arms are tired cause i carried the monitor home (probably only 600 feet or so...but holy CRAP my muscles are twitchin and I sweated enough to fill a bathtub...yum)....and I was going to go out, grab a coffee and sit down to write some lyrics or doodle or whatever... but now Im tired and sweaty and wrecked my hair-do and I think I stepped in cat pee with only my socks on. Argh. well..its all fixable. still going out. Maybe I'll see you on the Danforth? ;)

DVD..is almost complete. Aslan is bustin his everything to get the last bits done as we speak...we all put in alot of work. (even o-en..the 'new guy')Like everything we do... I always want more...even when it is plenty... I have big dreams, what can I say? the audio is good...Ive seen the videos finished, the 'making of' content...its all good. Blue looks totally cool. The Steve Jones stuff turned out really really great!!! (thanks steve! ..and thanks for the cure stuff, too....this man has the only album collection ive ever seen that has made me stark raving jealous... it was everything I like x20.)

Practiced a couple of nights ago after a short time out. went well enough...but it's amazing how stale your chops go after such a short period of time! man it felt like I hadn't played in months. Well... time is now cause we have a show, like now.  ... ... I like ULA.... should be a good show! I don't know what Delica is like   *goes to google*...
**UPDATE: holy CrAP! MALHAVOC, tooo!!! Sweet!**

Saturday July 2nd, 2005
The Dungeon - Oshawa

The Birthday Massacre
Universal Love Attack
Malhavoc
Delica

Doors open at 6pm. Cover $5.

Saw Land of the Dead with Rainbow, Falcore, Chibs and friends. ...I really liked it. there's some totally gruesome stuff in there. It was a bit too sci-fi instead of horror... but I like the political side of it enough. no movie these days seems to be good enough...but it was fun and creepy.. um...thats all.

Friday da 13th ...rules. [May. 13th, 2005|12:51 pm]
[mood |Busy, Cheerful, Rushed]
[music |My Chemical Romance (still) - Helena]

Apparently...Friday the 13th...is a pretty dang good day, this time round. (and can you believe I'm posting again??)

I sold some stocks...and can get my computer fixed now. Also planning to buy a PreSonus Firepod so I can finally get recording done properly in my own little rehearsal space, hopefully take a bigger role in writing.  I've been holding drum loops in my head for so long...finally going to get them out and into audible form. That's going to be so awesome. I've been waiting a long time for this.

We worked on DVD audio last night, Rainbow, Falcore and I...till like, 3am. Ugh. At times it was frustrating to know... that our little home operation was going to produce a good product, but not as good as some band who spent thousands of dollars getting someone else to make their DVD. Then again...when it's done... we'll know the work is all ours. I think we'll be proud of it, I think it will be pretty cool, even without thousands of dollars.Man so many people are working on this thing. Between all the video (directors, crew, post, editors for each video), promotion co-ordination (in a few countries) and the work we are doing ourselves... This is a pretty big undertaking. possibly our largest.

So much going on. I have a certain feeling ...a lot these days: Excited, but with this little voice back there somewhere telling me "holy crap you'd better hope this all goes well". there's much work to be done... And who knows? I still can't seem to let myself get too happy or comfortable. DVD. new songs, shows, new gear, European dates...and...

Oh, Speaking of shows... The Birthday Massacre just 'semi-confirmed' a FEW shows in Canada. (yes, way before we leave for Europe, haha)  Keep your Eyes on the message board for the concert announcements soon. Sweet! More stuff to scramble and prepare for!! woo-Hoo!

Argh [May. 10th, 2005|04:24 pm]
[mood | cranky]
[music |My Chemical Romance - Helena]

So much of radio these days is over-hyped garbage. ...So Many bands sound...boring. I'm sick of crap much-music hit singles ..But dammit...I really like this song.

Well, artwork for T-shirts nearly done, the videos are nearly done, Trailer is up, the European tour dates are being locked down, recording for the DVD needs to be done...I have a ton of email to catch up on, stuff to write and record...and My MAC is STILL BroKEN!!! ARGH. THis problem has been plauging me for a few months now. I can't stand it! It's totally holding me back. It's only the power supply. and it's a 3 year old G4 ..and I can't believe how much it's going to cost to get it fixed. I'm so #%$@ ticked at Apple right now. *whine* Seriously, It's close to 300 bucks to get it fixed... and what's a new mac mini cost?? 500 bucks or something...grumble. bah. Guess I'll hit up Ebay and try to find the part cheap. I'll do the labour my own dang self.

Maybe I should go back to a windows PC. This problem would be like 60 bucks to fix on a windows box. ...then again I saw Mac OS X Tiger running on a laptop yesterday.... holy crap it was sweet. http://www.apple.com/macosx/ The 'dashboard' looks wicked. BAH...I must not be swayed by all the pretty lights!!!

Getting this computer fixed will be the last of my troubles. ...after this all I have to do is work, record, practice and prepare for Germany. I've started my new 'practice every single bleedin day' schedule. I've missed one day...but I'm going to go practice now for double the time to make up for it! Hope that still counts.
